I created this piece for my son Sam while he was serving a mission in Houston, Texas. Halfway through his mission he was asked to learn French and become a missionary in the newly created French branch of mostly African refugees and immigrants. Then when he was asked to be in charge of their new social media page he wanted a painting of Christ that represented the colorful and vibrant African culture. And so he called me and asked if I could do this for him in one day. I laughed at him. BUT then I dropped everything and painted it in two days.
